Season Overview

The 2010 season followed two consecutive Supporters' Shield wins (2008 and 2009) and the MLS Cup victory of 2008. Polish head coach Robert Warzycha — the long-time assistant who had taken over from Sigi Schmid — sought to maintain the team's competitive edge with playmaker Guillermo Barros Schelotto as the central creative figure.

Final Standing

Columbus Crew finished second in the Eastern Conference during the regular season with 50 points. The team was eliminated in the conference semi-finals by the Colorado Rapids — the eventual MLS Cup champions. The Crew also lost the U.S. Open Cup final to the Seattle Sounders.
