What is in the football statistics archive

This is the football statistics archive behind everything else here: every league match played in the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga since the 2000/01 season, with the shot, corner and card record where it was kept. The club records, player profiles and head-to-head records on the rest of the site are recalculated from it rather than stored apart from it.

The leagues, season by season

Champions, points, goals per match and home advantage for every season since 2000/01 — all recalculated from the results rather than copied from a table.

Clubs that keep meeting: head-to-head club records

The pairings with the longest league record in the archive. Any two of the 219 clubs can be compared, with every meeting listed — the head-to-head records here run down to the individual result rather than stopping at a summary line.

Frequently asked

Where do the statistics on this site come from?

From the results themselves. 46,754 first-division matches across Bundesliga, Premier League, Ligue 1, Serie A, La Liga are held match by match, and every table, record and head-to-head is recalculated from them rather than copied from a published standing. That is why a figure here can differ by a place from a table that broke a tie on a different rule.

How current are the fixtures and scores?

Both the fixture strip and the live-score page carry the timestamp of the data behind them, and neither refreshes while the page is open. A match in progress therefore shows the score as it stood at that timestamp, not the score right now — check the timestamp before reading a live result as final.

What is shown on a day with no matches?

Something real or nothing at all. If no fixture is scheduled in any competition covered here — which is most of June and July — the strip falls back to matches played on the same calendar date in earlier years, drawn from 362 days of archive. If even that comes back empty, the strip is left off the page entirely rather than shown with nothing in it.

Can any two clubs be compared?

Only two that have actually met. 2,758 club pairings have a head-to-head record here, out of the 219 clubs in the archive — far short of every possible combination, because clubs from different countries rarely meet in a league. The comparison page greys out the pairings it has no matches for rather than returning an empty result.

About Footbalistic

Footbalistic is a football statistics reference covering player career data, club records, and match histories from professional leagues around the world. The database includes records from the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, UEFA Champions League, and major international competitions including the FIFA World Cup and UEFA European Championship.

Each player profile on Footbalistic presents appearance and goal tallies broken down by club and season, a summary of international caps, and a list of major honours. Club pages document squad histories, season-by-season standings, and head-to-head results. Competition pages archive all editions with qualified teams and final standings.

The site draws on publicly documented match and competition records. Where figures differ between sources, the most widely cited tallies are used. Statistics reflect data available at the time of last update.
